After Years of Promise and Advancements, has COVID-19 Helped Finally Usher in the Golden Age of Robotics?
As the COVID-19 pandemic increases the need for touchless environments, from frontline workers to everyday commerce, robotics takes center stage.
Earlier this year, pre pandemic, the Azafran team fanned out to a host of conferences and demo days ranging from CES in Vegas, to StartUp Grind and TechCrunch AI+Robotics 2020 in the Bay Area. At each event, the robotics sector brought a lot of enthusiasm, as well as a much discussed conundrum: Despite so much advancement and investment in the space, there was a definitive lack of commercialization and market progress.
With the COVID-19 crisis, this dynamic has changed and robotics is experiencing a long-awaited, significant increase in its adoption curve. Our focus in Issue Twenty of INSIGHTS is the long awaited advance of robotics and how it ties into the Azafran Investment Thesis.
